UGANDA: 80-year-old man shoots 30-year-old wife dead
MITYANA (DAILY MONITOR) – Residents of Nakwaya-Bombo village, Kikandwa Sub-county, Mityana District Monday started the day with disturbing news of a fellow resident who allegedly shot his wife dead, before turning the gun on himself.
Samuel Bariluno, 80, a businessman in Wakiseka Market reportedly shot his wife, Agnes Nakimera, 30, who died at Bukomero Health Centre IV.

“The woman has all along been pestering his husband for introduction and wedding ceremonies which the man repordly declined,” Ms Namugenyi said.
The children who witnessed the distressing incidence said their parents were watching television but suddenly started bickering in the wee hours of the night for a close to four hours, prompting their father [Baliruno] to pick a gun and shoot their mother [Nakimera].
“He got the gun and shot mummy in the chest, and after realising that she was in critical condition, he turned the gun on himself. He, however, survived with grave injuries,” the eldest son said.
Mr John Bosco Serunjoji, the Mityana District Police Commander confirmed the tragic incidence saying the suspect who is nursing injuries at Mulago National Referral Hospital, used a private gun to shoot his wife.
“We are going to investigate to establish how he got the gun,” Mr Serunjoji said.
