Kayihura, Museveni in Bukomansimbi as cops are murdered
KAMPALA (@UG_EDGE) – Police chief Kale Kayihura has promised the people of Lwengo and Bukomansimbi districts that he will track down criminals who spread terror and murdered six people.
Six people, including a retired police officer, were killed and 12 others injured after being attacked and hacked by unknown thugs in Lwengo and Bukomansimbi districts.
President Museveni is visiting the victims of Bakijambiya group attacks in Kibinge, Bukomansimbi today.
Lamech Kigozi, greater Masaka police spokesperson, says they are very sure that they will get the people who committed the act.
“As I speak, investigations are ongoing and we have leads which we are following. We are very sure that the people who did this are from this area.”
He added: “Our tables are open to receive information from people who have any leads about these murders.”
The deceased cop was identified as SSP Denis Ssebuggwawo.
In Makindye, Anguyo Jimmy, a police officer was lynched by an angry mob accusing him of stealing a motorcycle.
In Jinja, chaos ensued after an assistant referee cancelled a goal during a football match on January 1st.
People started throwing stones and in the process, a 12 year old boy was shot dead when one soldier tried to disperse the crowd.
