Government refuses to dig up land slide victims
Our lazy government has decided that we should leave alone the people who were buried by the landslides in Sironko and has now declared it a mass grave.
Talking over NTV last week Brigadier Stephen Oluka had said they merely needed sniffer dogs to locate the dead and excavate the exact place where the body could be.
Then Minister Musa Ecweru came and halted all the excavation and decided to declare the place a mass grave.
Then the people of Bufupa felt very sad. Then you hear of the Bagisu in Mbale and Kampala who are organizing a festival.
May all your festivities flop until you learn to care and speak for the people.
There is a lot to humanity than imbalu. If the cultural institution never acts in times of bereavement but is organising football contests, then shame upon them.
Those people are said to be going days without food and clean water, no shelter, no warm place to sleep and we are here shouting over Mugisha Muntu and imbalu.
The other day we were participating in cancer run, fundraising for Dan Kumapesa and the festival.
What can’t we do for these Bagisu of Masaba Sub county?
Back to our politicians. The only time I saw opposition actively involved was when MP Gershom went there and concluded that things are very bad. Government has tried, opposition are busy abusing one another and accusing Mugisu Muntu of being a mole.
In Isingiro we bought food for the people, in Katakwi FDC fundraised and took food but the police disorganized them and they took back the posho (has anyone ever told us where it went after?). Probably the FDC guys shared this posho.
Now Bagisu are suffering and all are quiet. You wait for 2021 and you expect votes and yet the only time we see you active is when you’re acting on Zungulu or Point Blank.
I am in my house, come and beat me if you’re offended.
