KAMPALA (RADIO TAMAZUJ) – The National Salvation Front led by General Thomas Cirilo has denied reports that it has agreed with former army chief Paul Malong to form a coalition to fight Kiir’s government.

South Sudan government on Monday declared Paul Malong a rebel after audio tapes leaked on social media, alleging that Malong agreed with some rebel movements including Cirilo’s group to fight against the current government in Juba.

“The National Salvation Front is committed to the signed cessation of hostilities agreement.  There are rumours these, but these are not new for us,” Yien Mathew Chuol, spokesman of the opposition group allied to Cirilo, told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday.

Yien pointed out that their rebel movement decided to give peace a chance after the signing of the ceasefire agreement in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The recently signed cessation of hostilities deal has seen multiple violations.
