WHAT UGANDANS WISH TO HEAR FROM DR. BESIGYE’S 2019 SNA.

By CHANGE OF GUARDS

“The great questions of the day will not be settled by means of speeches and majority decisions but by iron and blood.”  Otto von Bismarck

Last week, the opposition People’s Government led by Dr. Besigye announced that he was scheduled to deliver his State of the Nation Address this week. This development follows Museveni’s SNA  delivered on the floor of Parliament early this month.

Dr. Besigye has done everything possible towards liberating Ugandans from the yoke of Musevenism except dislodging Museveni from power. Besigye had mobilized Ugandans to successfully win an election but has been denied victory. Dr. Besigye has empowered Ugandans through enlightenment about the evils of the regime but Ugandans have not regained their power. Besigye took the oath of office of the President of Uganda and has successfully put in place a national government structure but it lacks executive powers.

Despite several attempts by both the Museveni regime and some greedy and selfish section of the opposition to remove Besigye from the face of opposition, KB has, with the popular support of the people remained ahead. Ugandans have hope that one day Dr. Besigye will lead them into a successful liberation.

Ugandans believed Besigye when he declared that he was focusing on 2019 as a year of action and not 2021. Amidst all the worsening situations under the Museveni regime, it is from this declaration that Ugandans derive hope that is keeping them going.

Ugandans are fully aware of the worsening situation pertaining to human rights violations, economic hardships and deprivation, breakdown of social services, sectarianism and nepotism, grave regional diplomatic wrangles, plunder of the country’s resources, and the regime’s resolve to retain power at all cost. Therefore, in his upcoming SNA, Ugandans expect nothing but an update on Action 2019 from Besigye.

That is their only hope for Uganda and their lifeline. It is out of such a level of desperation that the majority of Ugandans are silently praying that the ongoing conflict with Rwanda could escalate into a military confrontation that may dislodge the Museveni regime. This was the same situation in the late 1970s as Tanzania’s Nyerere sought to dislodge Iddi Amin.

INFORMATION IS POWER AND THE PROBLEM OF UGANDA IS MUSEVENISM
