UGANDA: We need to close all pentecostal born again churches that deliver miracles
One time when I flew home, I was staying with a family member in Mukono. Jet lagged and needing sleep. That was a Saturday night. Then on the Sunday, this loud noise is ringing out at 9am. I asked my sister, “What the bloody hell is that noise?”
REPLY: It is one of our neighbourhood churches and they praise the Lord for hours.
11:00am, the same shreaking noise from the church.
15:00hrs, same shreaking noise from the church.
Finally, I lost it and asked my sister: “Are they special sinners? Most of us go to mass for 45mins but these ones are still in church for 6hrs? Does Jesus differentiate between 45mins and 6hrs of shouting so loud to the neighbourhood and pissing off some of us who need sleep?”
My sister is one of those amazing angels that walk on earth because they cannot sleep. She proceeded to give me a lecture about the modern churches in Uganda, Pentecostals, Born Agains, nabalala nabalala.
I asked her, “Why do they just not go home after the 45min to 2hrs service and tend to their families?” She looks at me with that aweful look. “This is Uganda, no one minds their own business. Everyone is minding some one else’s business”.
Most of my family back in Uganda participate in those all night prayers. Nedda. I need sleep. That rubbish will not be accepted.
