UGANDA: Opposition lesson 3 from Business School – DRP

It is not like Uganda opposition reads anything I write.  They are too busy making noise to chase Museveni out of power with words.  No actions.  IPOD showed you all.

Yesterday, I wrote about BCP (Business Continuity Plan) and said I would write about DRP (Disaster Recovery Plan).

Previously, I had written about RISK.

DRP involves Risk Assessment, Risk Mitigation and is often just called Risk Management.  When you think about DRP, think about what could possibly happen (the worst, like an earth quake, tsunami, cyclone or in the case of Madagascar, the plague0.

You want to prepare for all these things yet if you do not analyse risks and plan for them, you will be singing to Jesus to save you.

For Uganda opposition, DRP means even planning for a whole team from your group being killed or them defecting.  How then will you recover?

We recently had droughts and cyclones in EAC. There are many farmers who lost crops and livestock. We did not plan for Mother Nature.  We will likely go through the same next year. At what point in time do we plan for natural disasters and even just basic human nature.  If a plague hits your business or country, how do you recover from that disaster?

Many African none partisan, none nepotism businesses go through the toughest times for not planning for disasters.  One day you will learn about insurance.

Tomorrow’s topic will be BUY INSURANCE FOR YOUR COMPANY.
