UGANDA: Opposition are being hacked on social media – @HeBobiWine @MugishuMuntu @SejuDav
To start with, hacking is now a joke. We only send you a link, document or video to open and we gotcha.
When I was doing my Masters in Information at University of Toronto (1994, 1995), one of our professors who is very well known in Canada for Computer & Internet Privacy Research and Privacy Rights assigned us a project.
“Write a program to grab everything a person does on a computer’.
Our small team of 4 geeks wrote a very tiny App. We installed it on every computer on the faculty network.
We ended up with people’s user names and passwords. Wewere recording every key stroke in the background and then getting a file from each computer.
Opening unsolicited Apps, documents, videos, links opens you up to such surveillance.
So far my friends who have been hacked opened things in FB messenger or by opening a link a known or trusted person had sent them. In what you open might be embedded malware.
Of course trust is hit and miss. Refer to my earlier articles on SPOOFING on the Nangalama blog.
Point me to your IT team and I will work with them. Probono. My contact information is public.
