UGANDA: Legislators visit nodding disease victims
MPs visit Nodding Syndrome victims in northern Uganda
Members of Parliament on a fact-finding mission on the Nodding Syndrome have heard that some of the sick children have been defiled.
David Okello, the coordinator of Caritas, an NGO helping the children in Pader district says they have now sought legal services to help the children.
Pader district currently has 2,247 nodding syndrome cases.
The health ministry allocated 1.4bn shillings in response to the crisis in Odek and Kitgum district.
The Leader of Opposition in Parliament Winnie Kiiza was on the team of MPs on the mission.
