UGANDA: Anyone can be a critic
You people know how us Ugandans like to complain. We can complain till hell freezes over.
Not too many of us suggest how to fix the problem at hand.
One of my former managers, Helen, cornered me one day. I was bitching about something.
HELEN: “Martha, by the time you identify a problem, you likely have a solution or solutions in mind. From this day forward, for every problem you bring to me, bring 3 possible solutions. The team will discuss and implement the best solution”.
Helen did this to all her staff. In the end, as a team, we would review all the problems and solutions in our 2hr weekly meeting.
Now, Uganda is a bit frustrating. People can complain, complain and complain. Where are the solutions you can suggest? It is your country too.
In fact, the best leaders always say “what do you suggest that we should do?”
If you notice, most of my posts are issues with possible solutions. Certainly, one problem I identified about Uganda some 6yrs ago was high unemployment. Hence, I embarked on reading, writing, proper usage of social media, business ideas, scholarships, jobs, immigration, visas. These are possible solutions to our high unemployment.
