PARENTING: It is not even a joke, full time life time job

All parents know that children no longer call the parents daily after they go away to University or College. I have this tendency to post “PARENTING: If you see my kids on Instagram or Snapchat, please tell them that even ET called home.
Today my daughter got me really good. “Becks, even ET called home. FYI” … “That’s bc ET didn’t have text”
NOW WATCH my friend Omalla give me his unsolicited opinion”
[02-01, 6:22 p.m.] Omalla: Yaya you remember what Lisa told me? I’ve learnt to let them be, she called me a Muzei who is stuck in the last millennium
[02-01, 6:27 p.m.] Martha Leah Nangalama: Hahaaaaaaaa
[02-01, 6:29 p.m.] Omalla: I coiled at the immunized Muzukulu
[02-01, 6:32 p.m.] Martha Leah Nangalama: Rebecca just posted in our Clan group “ET only called home because he could not text”.
Which is a bit funny. Because in Grade 9 when Natasha was doing “WWII” the landing of allied forces on the beaches of Normandy, France (their dad is from Normandy), kid gets frustrated.
“Mom, I do not understand why the allies fired on allies. Why did they not text first text to say they were flying in?”
I am now looking at this kid and wondering how I am gonna break the news to her.
“In 1944, there were no iPhones”.
Welcome to all Boomers and Gen X raising Gen Z.
