PARENTING: Flying some place for the first time on one’s own
Yesterday, Jelly Beans returned from Las Vegas.
She had a great time with her older sister, her brother in law and her 2 nephews. They flew her to Las Vegas as her Grade 12 (High School, A’Level) graduation gift.
This morning: “How are you feeling?”
TASHA: “OMG mom, I think I am jetlagged”.
MOM: “You could be jetlagged. It is a 4hr difference”.
TASHA: “But I have flown a lot. To many places. And it never felt this way before”.
I am looking at that kid and wondering if I should tell her that I used to give her Benadryl before we got on planes!
She went to work today. From 2:00PM to 8:00PM while jetlagged.
Then for the next 5 days, she works 6:00AM to 2:00PM. Means she has to wake up at 5:00AM.
She is 18yrs old. Show me a Ugandan youth (even a university graduate) who has the discipline to work those hours. AND even do it while jetlagged.
