High Court dismisses case challenging change of NUP leadership

The High Court in Kampala has dismissed with costs a case challenging the change of leadership of the National Unity Platform party. In August, Difas Basile and Hassan Twala petitioned court, contending that the change of name from National Unity Reconciliation and Development Party to NUP was illegal. The court case which was before Justice Musa Ssekaana has also rejected an attempt to deter Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu from using the NUP party ticket to run for President.
