Enanga and father grilled for alleged land grabbing

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga is on the spot as he and his father, George Echonga, a former Superintendent of police, face the Commission of Land inquiries to explain how they acquired a four-square-mile piece of land at Oreta Village in Apac district. The two interfaced with the commission in response to a summons by the commission chairperson, Catherine Bamugemereire. Last week, Okabo clan members led by 96-year-old Naphtali Enanga, petitioned the Land probe seeking redress after Echonga and Enanga allegedly ordered them to vacate their customary land by 1st November/ 2019 yet they have been occupying this land since the 1940s. On Tuesday, Echonga denied any wrongdoing but failed to explain how his father Enoch Okabo obtained the land. He told the commission that the office of the president gave him the go-ahead to process a land title on this land. #NTVNews Subscribe to Our Channel For more news visit http://www.ntv.co.ug Follow us on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/ntvuganda Like our Facebook page https://ift.tt/1bbEIWm
