CANADA: Try to apply to smalller universities – @LokomoPeter @RugyendoQuotes
Many African students I run into only want to apply to UofT, Mcgill, UBC, etc…the big universties.
The reality is in Canada all degrees are equal no matter which univeristy you go to. YES THE NAME counts but the big schools have very stiff competition for scholarships.
The smaller ones give you a higher probability than the big ones. Remember the big universities are saamped by Asians who hit the ground running when they smell a scholarships.
Meanwhile, Africans (Ugandans) ask, give me more details for the link you shared. Rubbish. The Asians even beat you at getting visas. Their parents think of nothing to pay $65,000 for tuition at UofT for a year of an MBA. Your parents are broke and you are slow!!
My friend Annie and I were helping our friend Amy from Hong Kong with her research project. One time we asked Amy why she was only going for the passing mark. REPLY: “I return to Hong Kong with a degree from CANADA, I will get a great job. No one cares about my final grade”.
LESSON: Just get a degree from Canada. Ask Peter Ssematimba who got a high school diploma from a school in Oregon and now an MP in Uganda.
Any univeristy in Canada sounds better than MBA from Busitema Univeristy.
