MARTHA LEAH NANGALAMA – LYING IS TOO MUCH WORK
Last week, I told 2 lies to my editor in Kampala.
1. It is too hot. I am going to the beach. I will have no internet access. YET, kept posting online. He knows what is automated and what I personally post. He gave me a break.
2. Second day: Leah, is it still hot in Moncton? “Oh yes boss, it is so hot you have no idea how many people are dropping dead. In fact, our electricity even died because the transformer on our road blew up”.
3. Today, about a week later, I could not remember the lies I had told him. It is so hard to remember lies. Consequently, when he told me to publish a story, I did it because I am afraid he is going to remind me of the lies from last week.
