‘RWANDA’ WRECKS HAVOC IN KAMPALA’S DEADLY ARMED ROBBERIES


CHANGE OF GUARDS – On June 11, 2019 Police reportedly engaged suspected armed robbers in a shootout at the suspects’ residence Rubaga Division, Kampala. In the process the gunmen shot and injured one of the police officers. Police reportedly arrested one of the two suspects but his accomplice, a serving UPDF soldier, escaped before recovering two guns belonging to the UPDF; it had UPDF serial numbers for the Masaka zone. How would the suspect manage to escape after such exchange of fire moreover in an urban setting with CCTV cameras, LDUs and members of the community. How come this time the police acted with restraint not to shoot dead the captured suspect more so after exchange of fire in which their officer was injured!!!

On June 10, 2019, two female mobile money agents were on shot dead as five armed robbers raided their mobile money shop in Zana along Entebbe road. The robbers who were riding on three unidentified motor cycles robbed the victims of unspecified amount of money before shooting them dead near their mobile money shop.
The incident was the eighth armed robbery in Kampala Metropolitan area in the past six weeks.

On June 2, 2019 security agencies claimed to have failed a midnight attempted armed robbery by UPDF soldiers on Fang Fang Hotel in the heart of Kampala. The suspects were allegedly armed with two Sub-Machine Guns loaded with 300 bullets. Why did the said armed robbers take long at the scene before carrying out the said robbery and only to be arrested without a fight!!!!

On May 29, 2019 six heavily armed thugs also moving on three unidentified motorcycles raided Cheap Hardware shop in Nansana and shot dead three people critically injuring two others before robbing Sh385.

In May 2019 a university student, Raphael Walugembe was shot dead at her parents home in Kitunzi, Rubaga Division by robbers who were robbing their neighbour, Denis Mwesigwa, a mobile money agent.

In April 2019, 6 thugs armed with a Submachine Gun (SMG) and another armed with a pistol raided City Supermarket in Mpererwe, Kampala. They allegedly shot and injured a security guard who died shortly after. The robbers who were riding on motorcycles with no registration plates forced their way inside the super market, put every one on gun point and robbed unspecified amounts of cash before attacking a mobile money agent who works just next to the supermarket and robbed her of Shs 4.5m.

On 7 April2019, two armed thugs attacked Mugisha Moses, a mobile money operator at Mpongo Trading Centre in Kakumiro District and robbed him of UGX 1,370,000. The suspects also shot and injured two (02) people who were part of the group trying to pursue them.

on 9 April2019, two unidentified people who were travelling in an unidentified motor vehicle armed with a rifle waylaid one Magoma Isma, a mobile money agent at Nakaloke Central Cell, in Mbale District and robbed him of UGX 5,840,000, five (05) mobile phones and three (03) Matrix machines. They shot and injured him as well as the boda boda rider, Muzamiru who was traOn porting him home. 


On the same day, April, 9th in Nansana, Kampala two (02) unidentified armed thugs attacked one Nampira Betty, a mobile money and robbed her of UGX 3.3M.  The suspects shot in the air to scare off approaching residents.
Around February 2019, four men armed with an AK47 rifle stormed DFCU Bank on Appolo Kaggwa Road at 7pm and ordered three bank staff to lead them to the safe where cash is kept. They assaulted the trio demanding for the keys to the safe in vain. A female bank staff was reportedly rapped to compel her to surrender the key.  After failing to compel the employees to handover the key, the thugs reportedly tried to cut the safe without success.
They left the bank at 10.20pm after storming the CCTV control room and disconnecting the cameras. 
They reportedly made off with the monitor and central processing unit used to store CCTV footage.  Outside the bank, the robbers hijacked a Toyota Vitz belonging to one of the employees that was parked at the entrance.
In February 2019 military and police officers were deployed to guard Chinese investors after the latter threatened to leave the country following a wave of attacks.  Mr You Jing Shu, the chairperson of Guangdong Chamber of Commerce, a lobby of about 50 Chinese companies in Uganda, said that many investors had considered leaving unless the government beefed up security.
In January 2019, two armed robbers riding a motorcycle attacked a mobile money agent identified as Andrew Kiboma at Sebere cell in Wanale Division, Mbale Municipality and robbed him of cash before shooting and fatally injuring him.   
In August 2018 Police reportedly recovered three guns belonging to the police and the army from suspected armed robbers.  The said arms had serial numbers. UG POL 563100709520644, UG UPDF 4902251, SAR 11200917 and 49 rounds of ammunition. 
Ugandans undoubtedly know that these daringly armed robberies are directly and indirectly masterminded by security personnel. However, the Museveni regime will argue that the surge in crime wave is masterminded by the newfound scapegoat, ‘Rwanda’.  

All that havoc is inspite of the presence of a multi billion CCTV camera project and the deployment of the army and LDU to police Kampala!!!!
