AFRICA is not a country!
I think Becky was in Grade 4 (P4) when the main teacher assigned the kids to do a project / presentation on their country of origin.
It was a great project despite that it was homework for parents.
The origins were, where you born, your parents, your grand parents. Otherwise, you could write about the Canadian Native Indegenous.
My sister had just sent me cute outfits for the girls, from Uganda.
Becky uses Google and finds out a lot about Uganda. She makes her poster with “UGANDA, WHERE I COME FROM”. Adds photos, and text about her country.
When she returned with her poster marking, it said 99.5%. You forgot to mention the country.
My child was heart broken. “But I said clearly that it is UGANDA”.
Becky’s teacher had done her Masters at Oxford. I pulled my kid out from the public school and put her in a private school.
AFRICA is a continent, not a country!!
